Hey Friends!
Well, life has been crazy busy lately. Apartment hunting, a sick pup, family matters and overtime with a full book at work. Oh, and of course, the Stanley Cup playoffs (GO CAPS!). With all the chaos, a trip to the Dominican Republic couldn’t have come at a better time. I was anxious to revive my soul and cleanse my aura, so I spent five days laying out and savoring the beautiful views of Punta Cana.
I spent hours out at sea, basking in the sun and snorkeling through the famous turquoise waters; bucket-list checked! I took in the life of the most beautiful sea creatures I’ve ever seen. Time passed me by as I sipped on fresh coconuts, straight from the palm trees and met exotic new friends from all over the world. I enjoyed every moment of my toes in the sand and warm skin being kissed by the sun, as I flipped page after page in a good book.
I experienced so many wonderful moments in Punta Cana, but the best experience was the freedom and mindfulness I felt as I put my mind to rest. Life can feel so overwhelming at times. It’s important to take a step back and remember to live in the moment. A change of scenery is a great way to re-channel that mindfulness and find happiness through the commotion. It’s all about learning to embrace those crazy days and live in the moment. Focusing on the positives that these situations bring, instead of the negatives.
Personally, traveling is a great way to bring me back to a more mindful way of living. It allows me to clear my head and appreciate the smaller things in life. I am able to reset and refresh my mindset, which then encourages me to apply this mindfulness to my everyday life. With mindful thinking, every experience puts me one step further into a happier, healthier lifestyle. Whether it’s on a relaxing vacation or in the midst of chaos, I’m able to take things head on and still cherish these moments.
My first trip out of the country was a huge success! I’m excited to explore more of our beautiful earth and to acquire all of the growth that comes with it. I can’t wait for my next trip. Now, where should I go?!
